If you love red flowers then you will love this ceramic poppies ornament. This oval red flower decoration features a black and white illustration of some beautiful flowers painted black and red, similar to a flower print. It is fully handmade as the oval was cut from a slab of clay and brushed with black slip and then the image was carved while it was wet – this is called sgraffito pottery. It was bisque fired, then later it was given the red glaze, brushed with a clear glaze and then fired again. A hole was cut at the top to insert a black cord.

The size of this piece is just under 5 inches long and 3 ½ inches wide (12.7 cm x 8.9 cm). It is about 1/8 inch thick. It weighs approximately 3 ounces or 85 grams.

The ornament does come with a black cord so it can be hung on the wall or anywhere you want to hang it. The backside has my Goldhawk stamp on it.
